Hi! I'm Savannah Santiago, one of the first-year residents at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis. Originally from sunny San Diego, California, I fell in love with St. Vincent as a student, and now I proudly call Indiana my home! I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, where I had the privilege of competing as an athlete on both the cross country and track and field teams. Before starting podiatric medical school at Western University in Pomona, California, I worked as a Spanish medical translator and as an open ocean kayak tour guide/surf instructor back home in San Diego. (Residency isn’t quite as relaxing as surf instructing!) I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Western and was thrilled to match at my top choice, St. Vincent! When I'm not busy at the hospital, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, running on the Monon Trail, tending to my plants, or FaceTiming my family back home. Additionally, I serve as an editor for Present Podiatry and write a weekly column called "Sole Purpose."
